I created this blog because I live in Western New York. More specifically I live in the 26th district which is the host of one of the most competitive Congressional races in the country. And there are a lot of questions surrounding the candidates.
Right now the race is centered on the Democratic primary, which takes place on September 9th. The primary is between Jack Davis, the three time professional Congressional candidate, cooky millionaire; Jon Powers, the substitute teacher, Iraqi war hero who returned from service to start a non-profit that has a lot of questions; and Alice Kryzan, the non-existent third wheel who is irrelevant.
The only Republican is Chris Lee, another rich guy candidate who I am not sure what he represents.
But the real purpose of this blog is to get to the bottom or the real story about War Kids Relief out there. This isn't a pro- or anti- Jon Powers website, it's the opportunity for both sides to get information out there to dispell any questions or rumors ongoing.
Well let the debate begin!

Apparently you've never read the Newsweek article, watched the NBC Nightly News spotlight, read the Buffalo News, local Buffalo area papers, or ever heard Powers speak.
He started it after helping with a documentary that was made about the men he was in command of. There was even a huge news article, which all the Buffalo & a few Rochester stations covered, that showed some guy running a race to raise money. There was a big event in Powers hometown to fundraise money so he could go back as a civilian (videos can be found on you tube) to Iraq to try and kick it off the ground. Mr. Powers went back - as a civilian! A good WNY'er risks his life to make a difference in the world and this is how dirty politicians repay good deeds.
If you're attempting to start this as a smear campaign - as Jack Davis' campaign manager has paid people to do (his slanderous illegaly copied website shows Davis paid for it, and is willing to pay for anything to buy this seat) then you are truly a sad individual.
The rumor of War Kids being fake was started by a man by the name or Eric Mullen (his name and information can be found on three other area blogs).
The "real Eric Mullen" is involved with Jack Davis' campaign and is running a smear campaign against candidates in NY-26.
He was fired by Wesley Clark after scandals and has been burned ever since. He's had a political history of trying to smear candidates by legal, illegal, and downright dirty means.
Shame on you Eric Mullen for being a horrible example for future political candidates and being the poster child for dirty politics.
